Grand Opening This Week!

May 31st will mark the grand opening of the Mt. Airy Village Farmers' Market and we will celebrate the occasion by having some extra festivities as well as the usual delectable, farm fresh fruits and vegetables you already love.

There will be music! Northwest Philadelphia local Ian Zolitor will be on hand to offer up an interestingly original take on Folk music. With sometimes dark, always witty lyricism that provokes foot-stomping and hand-clapping, audiences are left smiling and wanting more of his catchy tunes. He co-hosts the bi-weekly Big Folkin' Experiment at Earth Bread & Brewery. Not a bad soundtrack while you buy your strawberries!

There will be crafts! Devin McNutt of Saffron Creations will be in attendance with some of the most unique handcrafts you can find. From the Saffron Creations website:

Saffron Creations jewelry features the exquisite, through often under-appreciated, artwork printed on metal cookie tins and tea tins. These tins may have otherwise been thrown away, but artist Devin McNutt has found a way to reclaim their beauty by transforming them into gorgeous jewelry. One person's trash is truly another's treasure!

Again, these extras are in addition to our farmers - Sorbello Girls and Weavers Way Farm. Great food, crafts AND music...this is more than a market - IT'S AN EVENT!!! We look forward to seeing you there.
